Following on from Sounds of Unridden Waves (2020-), Sounds of Clouds (2024-) is the second instalment of a three-part, multi-year postconceptual artwork. It consists of an original soundtrack and feature length film, presented as part of an immersive installation of associated objects, scaled and selected to adapt to the parameters of individual exhibition venues. The soundtrack album was released on audio streaming platforms in 2024. The premiere exhibition of the film at project8 Gallery will also include a series of related paintings, photographs, objects, and limited-edition artefacts that, collectively, seek to create a materially dynamic and malleable universe. Although a quasi-narrative arc is implied within the constellation of exhibited items, the spatio-temporal location(s) and intended meanings of Sounds of Clouds remain intentionally ambiguous. Successive clouds merge into an otherworldly presence, suspended in time and space, evoking a sense of strangeness that is at once hauntingly familiar and profoundly alien.
